Nigeria will find out her group opponents for Morocco 2015 in a draw to be done by CAF in Cairo on Sunday afternoon
Defending champions Nigeria
will find out their opponents for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations
qualifying campaign when CAF holds the draw on Sunday, April 27, in
Cairo.The Super Eagles who won the last edition in South Africa in 2013 have been pooled in Pot 1 alongside top seeds Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Mali and Tunisia.
They are likely to face any of powerhouses Algeria, Angola, Cap Verde, Togo, Egypt, South Africa and Cameroun who are drawn in Pot 2.
In Pot 3, there are RD Congo, Ethiopia, Gabon, Niger, Guinea, Senegal and Sudan. Teams in Pot 4 are yet to be decided as CAF will pool together the remaining 24 least-ranked teams to play out for the seven available slots.
Hosts Morocco have qualified automatically for the tournament.
The draws will take place at 1:30pm (Nigerian Time) on Sunday.
The final tournament of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2015 will be played from 17th January through 8th February, 2015.
The Opening Ceremony in Marrakech will only have one fixture – the Opening Match of Group A. The second fixture of Group A will be played on 18th January which will also have two matches of Group B.
Previously, the semi-finals have been played on one date. At Orange AFCON Morocco 2015, the semi-finals will be played on 4th February and 5th February 2015.
