FRSC Issues A Driver's Licence For US Ambassador, James Entwistle

The Ambassador of the United States of America to Nigeria, James Entwistle, paid a courtesy visit to Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Headquarters in Abuja on April 24, 2014, Thursday, and even got a driver’s license there.
The Ambassador had a closer look at the process of driver’s license administration in Nigeria, tagged it as “a harmonized and centralized” one.

“I am impressed with the use of sophisticated system to pull data from the entire country” Amb. Entwistle said, commenting on the Information and Communication Technology platforms.
He further commended the FRSC for establishing a Call Centre with sustained interface with its operatives on the highways and a Data Centre to ensure effective collation, storage, retrieval and management of road crash details.
Amb. Entwistle also commended the Corps’ disposition to capacity building and its sustained partnership with the State of California to train its personnel on road safety management and vehicle administration.
The FRSC Corps Marshal and Chief Executive, Osita Chidoka, told the US Envoy about an integrated platform on vehicle registration which ensures that insurance details of vehicle owners are captured on-line in the course of registering their vehicles, to ensure sanity and responsiveness in the Insurance Sector.
