Former Delta Military Administrator Passes Away 48 Hours After Father's Deat

A former Military Administrator of Delta State, Col John David Dungs (retd.), slumped and passed away 48 hours after his father's death in Jos on Friday, May 2.
The Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Olivia Dazem, confirmed the death of 61-year-old Col David Dungs (rtd.).
Only a day ago, Berom kinsman, former Deputy Senate President, Senator John Wash Pam, died from prostate cancer.
Mrs. Olivia Dazem stated that the news of the death of Dungs was communicated to Governor Jonah Jang, who is Dungs’ kinsman, less than 10 minutes after the incident.
“Baba got the news few minutes ago and he is in Jishe (Government House and Lodge) right now and he is just not ready to talk,” the commissioner said.
A former Minister of State, Agriculture, Dr. Jonah Madudu, still doesn't believe that in less than in 24 hours the Berom nation had lost two worthy sons.
“This is a tragedy because his father’s corpse is right now in the mortuary,” Dr. Jonah Madudu said.
Dungs could be remembered as Delta State military administrator from August, 1996 to August, 1998, when his decision to move the headquarters of the Warri LG area from Ogbe-Ijoh, an Ijaw town, to Ogidigben in the Itsekiri area, sparked a wave of violence among the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo.
