Organisation Names University After President Jonathan

The Bayelsa State government on Sunday announced that a World Fashion Organisation (WFO) has named the proposed World Fashion University which is to be built in state after President Goodluck Jonathan.

Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seriake Dickson, who made this known in a statement issued in Yenagoa, the state capital said, the decision was in recognition of the president’s achievements so far despite the security challenges facing the country.

According to the Nation, the statement revealed that the organisation made the revelation at the closing ceremony and Gala Night of the Africa Fashion Reception, which was held at the Banquet Hall of Government House.
It said that the Goodluck Jonathan World Fashion University will be equipped with a research centre, amphitheatre, faculty of social sciences, conference centre, textile plant building and sports complex, among other facilities.

The president, who was represented at the occasion by Chief Edem Duke, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, thanked the organisation for the honour.
President Jonathan noted that Africa has produced notable designers in the creative industry and must be given its pride of place in the world.
The president also disclosed that the industry had contributed 40 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) across the continent.

A father, two brothers, a cousin and a man who claimed to be a husband of a deceased appeared in court on charges of murder and torture on Saturday, 5 July. The incident occurred on May 27 when Farzana Parveen was heading to court to contest an abduction case her family had filed against her husband, Mohammed Iqbal.
A 25-year-old woman was attacked by an angry mob in broad daylight who beat her to death with bricks in the eastern city of Lahore. It was gathered that the woman’s relatives were unsatisfied with her choice to marry Mohammed Iqbal for love as they had another plans for her future.

After being arrested the father of a woman who was stoned to death and four other suspects pleaded not guilty. The police investigator, Mian Zulfiqar, said, "We have a strong case against the suspects but it is up to the court how to take view of our investigation."
The trial will begin on Monday when the court has called on prosecution witnesses, with police officers and doctors among them, to appear. The case has brought international attention to violence against women in Muslim-majority Pakistan, where hundreds of women are barbarically killed by relatives each year in so-called ‘honor killings’ carried out by husbands or relatives as a punishment for alleged adultery or other illicit sexual behavior.

A Man Who Is Dating BOTH Identical Twins Reveals Intimate Details

A man who shares the bed with two identical twins opens up about their intimate relationship.
Ben Byrne, 31, and twins Anna and Lucy DeCinque who spent more than $240,000 on surgeries to look more alike began dating about 18 months ago after they added him on Facebook on the suggestion of mutual friends.
At first, the electrical mechanic had trouble balancing the demands of two girlfriends, but he learned that the attention he paid to one, had to be paid to the other.

"It’s my first time with two girlfriends, and to be honest it’s very difficult because it has to be 100 per cent even," Mr Byrne told Woman’s Day.
"Whatever I do for one I have to do for the other, so it’s a fine balance. My mates reckon it’s a cool problem to have."
This is the first time the health nut has spoken out about his unorthodox relationship with the 28-year-olds since he came to the attention of global media when Anna and Lucy’s story came to light earlier this year.
According to Lucy, the most frequent question they got was: "How does one guy keep up with two girls in the bedroom?"
"Put it this way, we’re very active girls and he needs twice the energy," she said.

Mother of the twins, Jeanna, said she was happy, as long as the girls were happy, and had formed a strong bond with Mr Byrne as she found herself sticking up for him when he fought with the twins.
According to Mr Byrne, he gets double the love.

Man Bags 14 Years Jail Term Over N220, 000

A Federal High Court in Kano on Wednesday, 2 July, 2014 sentenced a young man named, Stephen Onyekachi to 14 years impriso
PMNEWS reports that the accused was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, 0n 6 June, 2013, on a 3-count charge of allegedly obtaining the sum of N220, 000 from one Auwal Shehu Garba under the pretext that he had a solar indicator for sale.
It was gathered that Onyekachi approached the complainant through a phone call and offered him a business deal after which Garba allegedly made a payment of N200, 000 and also sent him MTN recharge card worth N20,000.

After listening to counsel of the defendant and the prosecutor, Justice Riman sentenced the accused to seven years imprisonment on counts one and three while count two was dismissed for lack of documentary evidence.

The judge also ordered Onyekachi to pay the sum of N220, 000 in restitution to the victim.

One of the counts read, “that you Stephen Onyekachi (Alias Steven Onyero) and others (now at large) on or about 20th January, 2012 at Kano, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with intent to defraud obtained from one Auwal Shehu Garba, the sum of N200, 000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira Only) via Stephen Onyekachi’s account domiciled at United Bank For Africa account number 2047444748, thereby committed an offence contrary to section 8(b) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006 and punishable under section 1(3) of the same Act”.
