Just days after Lamar Odom was found unconscious in a brothel, he has finally woken up from his coma and is breathing again without any help from a ventilator!

Five Dead During Riot In Abuja

Recent reports from AIT, has revealed that five people have lost their lives in an ongoing riot caused by a motorcycle accident in Dei Dei, Abuja.
It was also reported that over 35 vehicles were destroyed in the incident. According to reports, an accident which involved a motorcycle running down a woman by the roadside is what sparked the riot. There was a heated conversation between onlookers and sympathizers which led to a fight between residents from around the area. To defend himself, the motorcyclist stabbed five people.
Angry residents in the area began fighting, smashing vehicles and burning houses. The chaos led to businessmen in the area closing their stores and scampering for safety.
Policemen have been called upon to restore peace. Security operatives in the area also sustained injuries while attempting to calm the fighters down.
All efforts to reach the Abuja police to confirm this report has proved abortive.
Just a few days back, a violent incident which occurred in Lagos Island, Lagos led to the death of four people including a politician. The tragic incident happened as a result of a riot that broke out after a political rally held by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

The Bayelsa State government on Sunday announced that a World Fashion Organisation (WFO) has named the proposed World Fashion University which is to be built in state after President Goodluck Jonathan.

Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seriake Dickson, who made this known in a statement issued in Yenagoa, the state capital said, the decision was in recognition of the president’s achievements so far despite the security challenges facing the country.

According to the Nation, the statement revealed that the organisation made the revelation at the closing ceremony and Gala Night of the Africa Fashion Reception, which was held at the Banquet Hall of Government House.

A 25-year-old woman was attacked by an angry mob in broad daylight who beat her to death with bricks in the eastern city of Lahore. It was gathered that the woman’s relatives were unsatisfied with her choice to marry Mohammed Iqbal for love as they had another plans for her future.

After being arrested the father of a woman who was stoned to death and four other suspects pleaded not guilty. The police investigator, Mian Zulfiqar, said, "We have a strong case against the suspects but it is up to the court how to take view of our investigation."

Man Bags 14 Years Jail Term Over N220, 000

A Federal High Court in Kano on Wednesday, 2 July, 2014 sentenced a young man named, Stephen Onyekachi to 14 years impriso
PMNEWS reports that the accused was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, 0n 6 June, 2013, on a 3-count charge of allegedly obtaining the sum of N220, 000 from one Auwal Shehu Garba under the pretext that he had a solar indicator for sale.
It was gathered that Onyekachi approached the complainant through a phone call and offered him a business deal after which Garba allegedly made a payment of N200, 000 and also sent him MTN recharge card worth N20,000.

After listening to counsel of the defendant and the prosecutor, Justice Riman sentenced the accused to seven years imprisonment on counts one and three while count two was dismissed for lack of documentary evidence.

The judge also ordered Onyekachi to pay the sum of N220, 000 in restitution to the victim.

We love Kim’s style and how she always looks runway ready, but sometimes you just have to dress down for the occasion — you can still make it sexy! Rename Nigeria To 'Airegin' To Wash Off Colonial Legacy - Confab Delegate

A National Confab, Chief Mike Ozekhome, yesterday, July 3, suggested to change the name Nigeria to ‘Airegin’ because the present name of the country was twisted by the colonialists and a new one would make a clean brake from the past.
During a debate on report of committee on Political Restructuring and Forms of Government with Gen. Ike Nwachukwu and Mohammed Umara Kumalia, the co-Chairmen of the committee, Ozekhome also proposed to change the present National Anthem to the former and older one which was written by Taiwo Akinwumi.
He also suggested the old flag that was designed with the rising sun on it to be re-introduced against the backdrop that it was peculiar with all parts of the country.
According to him, with all these changes, Nigeria would wash off the colonial legacy. "I want to move that this conference should consider changing the name of the country to reflect our originality. The name Nigeria was a colonial imposition which must be corrected. The name was given to the country by Lady Flora Shaw who later became Lady Lugard."
"The country was known formally as the Southern and Northern Protectorates before the name change. It was changed because they said it was too long for them to pronounce. I suggested that the name should be changed from Nigeria to Airegin. It was just gotten when you write the name Nigeria from ‘Right to Left’."
Ozekhome wan’t the first one who suggested to change the name of the country. Earlier, another delegate of the ongoing National Conference, Dr Agwu Ukiwe Okali, suggested to change the name of the country from Nigeria to ‘Naijiria’ in order to spare the country further "setbacks and embarrassment" in the international arena.

Ozekhome also supported the idea of the additional state given to the South East geo-political zone, saying that it will integrate the zone into the system.

soldiers attacked brt bus in lagos over death of colleagues

Nigerian soldiers got angry and began to destroy BRT buses along Ikorodu Road in Lagos as one of the buses hit and killed another soldier this morning, July 4.
According to witnesses, the soldier who was not identified was riding a bicycle to work when the BRT bus knocked him down at the Palmgrove bus stop.
It was gathered that an alert was sent immediately to other soldiers at the Abalti Barrack. Thus, the road at Palmgrove was blocked by the soldiers as they began to vandalise every BRT in sight, causing a massive traffic.
The drivers abandoned their buses as angry soldiers began setting the buses on fire. Not less than four buses have been burnt down.
It was gathered that journalists who attempted to take photos was severely beaten by the soldiers and had to be rushed to the hospital. Some other pedestrians who were making calls with their phones or even just holding the phone in sight were slapped and kicked and their phones seized or damaged.
According to sources, at least 80 soldiers were on the road between Onipanu and Palmgrove and pedestrians were required to raise their two hands as they passed to avoid beating by the soldiers.
